Idoia Cuesta creates one-off leather basketweave pieces for Loewe

Frequent Loewe collaborator and textile artisan Idoia Cuesta has created one-off leather basketweave pieces (pictured) for the luxury brand’s spring-summer 2021 women’s collection. The intricately woven pieces are shown adorning voluminous cotton dresses.
The Spanish company has previously worked with the Galicia-based Ms Cuesta on its spring-summer 2021 men’s collection, as well as on its Salone del Mobile exhibition in 2019.
The artisan is as much inspired by her rural Galician surroundings as she is by the arts and culture of Scandinavian and East Asian countries. Her spontaneous “chaos technique” ensures that no finished pieces are the same.
