Chinese students show design prowess

Fifty-four Chinese students have completed their entries in the Leather and Hide Council of America (LHCA)’s  ‘Real Leather, Stay Different’ competition, using US hides as the main material.

Leather catalogues provided by Chinese tanneries were posted to the students, who had been selected from 500 entrants from seven universities.

The competition, organised by LHCA in partnership with China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), builds on similar competitions in Taiwan, Italy and the UK.

The judges will choose an overall winner on February 23, after months of delay due to ongoing global pandemic.

In July, winners will be revealed at a product demonstration and awards ceremony hosted by LHCA and CLIA.
