Marfrig continues to grow in second quarter

20/08/2018
Brazilian packer group Marfrig has reported revenue of more than R9.9 billion for the second quarter of 2018, an increase of 21% compared to the same period of last year.

It said increased global demand for beef protein led to the growth of its sales volume. Adjusted earnings for this period were R918 million, up 87% year on year.

Marfrig completed its acquisition of a controlling stake in US group National Beef in June. It includes National Beef’s wet blue tannery in St Joseph, Missouri, National Beef Leathers, which means Marfrig will return to the tanning industry.
