Bata Zimbabwe improves efficiency with tannery investments

Its managing director, Ehsan Zaman, told local press that the company has already invested in new machines at the plant in Gweru, and is now replacing the plating machine.
“These investments will ensure the overall quality of our leather and we will be able to produce better shoes,” he said.
The company has also replaced assembly line machines and shoe moulds, and is diversifying into more women’s and men’s styles.
Bata claims to be the largest footwear manufacturer in the country. “No shoe material is better than natural leather,” it says.
