High hopes for Italy’s leathergoods in Seoul and Moscow

The Korean edition of leathergoods show Mipel, featuring 12 Italian companies, is under way in Seoul (October 18 to 20), with organisers hoping to increase exports to the country.

Last year, €290 million worth of Italian leathergoods were exported to South Korea, a 4% rise on the year before, making it the eighth largest destination.

During the show, a roundtable featuring buyers, bloggers and journalists will aim to uncover Korean tastes and fashions, and introduce consumers to Italian brands.

Following the Korean event, Italian companies will head to Obuv 'Mir Kozi in Moscow (24 to 27 October) for its 48th edition.

"There are great expectations for this edition of the event, linked to the recovery of consumption. We have been able to select new and promising contacts who will make up a delegation meeting Italian companies,” said Pier Paolo Celeste, director of Italy’s trade promotion agency in Moscow.
