Uganda: new university course to absorb leather training

12/10/2017
Uganda’s most prominent university, Makerere, has confirmed that its leather course will be one of six it has amalgamated into one new course.

Students on courses covering leather, meat, dairy, poultry, animal feed and commercial insects will now work towards a new bachelor’s degree in “industrial livestock business”.

Principal of the college of veterinary medicine, animal resources and bio-security, Professor John David Kabasa, said the programme would help Uganda transform its farming sector into a critical contributor to the economy.
