CICB announces Sustainability Forum theme

Brazil’s main tanning industry association CICB has announced that one of the main themes at its fifth Sustainability Forum will be the circular economy.

Now under the umbrella of the Brazilian Leather Sustainability Certification (CSCB) programme, the forum will take place in Novo Hamburgo on August 11, with JBS Couros, Stahl and leather chemists’ association ABQTIC as the main sponsors.

The theme of a circular economy, based on financial, human, social and natural capital reconstruction, will feature in a number of the presentations.

Speakers will include value-from-waste specialist Guilherme Brammer, from São Paulo-based consultancy WiseWaste, and Stahl’s sustainability director, Michael Costello.
