23/05/2016
Luxury brand Versace has appointed Jonathan Ackeroyd as its new CEO, replacing Gian Giacomo Ferraris who joined the company in 2009. His appointment is effective immediately and he is expected to begin working in mid-June.

Mr Ackeroyd was previously CEO of Alexander McQueen but left the British fashion house at the beginning of May after 12 years. He was replaced by Emannuel Gintzburger.

Versace vice president and artistic director Donatella Versace paid tribute to the new CEO’s “proven track record in building global brands, steering growth and driving strategic development” and stated that his “industry expertise and vision will be key to advancing the next phase of Versace's development".

"It is an honour to be joining such a dynamic and innovative organisation," Mr Ackeroyd said of his appointment.
