Emmanuel Gintzburger is to replace Jonathan Akeroyd as CEO of luxury fashion house Alexander McQueen, parent company Kering announced.

Kering says that Akeroyd, who has been CEO of the brand for 12 years, is leaving to “pursue other interests outside of the group.”

Gintzburger arrives at the company with vast experience in the luxury and cosmetics injury having previously served as retail and wholesale director at Yves Saint Laurent. He has also worked at Louis Vuitton, Lanvin and Sephora during a 17-year career.

He will join the company on May 9 and will be responsible for accelerating the global expansion of the Alexander McQueen brand.
