US Agriculture Secretary makes Vietnam visit

Vietnam is the 11th-largest agricultural export market for the US with exports of food and agricultural products to the country totalling $2.3 billion in 2015.
Under the terms of the TPP, Vietnam has agreed to reduce and eventually eliminate tariffs for a wide range of food and agricultural products. This would allow the US to compete with other nations when exporting to the country.
In 2015, US exports of beef and beef products to Vietnam were worth $32.3 million. The TPP agreement will see all of Vietnam’s tariffs on these products eliminated within three to eight years.
