Vietnam a good market as Iran opens up

04/04/2016
As Iran opens up for business again following the lifting after a decade of United Nations-imposed sanctions, leading figures in the leather industry there have said Vietnam presents a particularly attractive new partner.

Vietnam’s outgoing president, Truong Tân Sang, visited Iran just before the end of his term of office in March. Among the business figures he met during the visit was Samad Hassanzadeh, president of the Tabriz chamber of commerce. Afterwards, Mr Hassanzadeh said specifically that one of his organisation’s aims is to export rugs and leathergoods.
