Break-in reported at Bottega Veneta: thieves target intellectual property

Local media in northern Italy have reported a break-in at the headquarters of luxury leathergoods brand Bottega Veneta on the night of April 7.

Il Giornale di Vicenza reported that the Bottega Veneta senior management team had issued a statement confirming the break-in but said it did not want to give any details while police investigations take their course.

However, the same newspaper suggested that the theft was the work of “professionals” and was “almost certainly” carried out to order. It also alleged that what the thieves targeted were new bag designs and computers containing Bottega Veneta intellectual property.
