Heusch’s Iran-based workshops update tanners on fleshing blades
Fleshing and shaving blades maker Heusch has organised workshops in Tehran and Mashhad, Iran, to “refresh the tanners’ understanding of fleshing and shaving” following the lifting of sanctions last summer that could see its leather industry rejoining the global market.

The two-day events were focused on theory and practice sessions, with time dedicated to the art of manual reblading only using an air pressure gun.

The Tehran event was hosted by Hydro Charm, a domestic tanning machine manufacturer and re-blading service centre. In Mashhad, close to the Afghanistan border, Mashhad Leather tannery opened its facility for the training.

Around 50 tanners from 21 companies took park.

A third workshop for the city of Tabriz is planned for the coming weeks.
