Details announced for Freiberg Leather Days event

The second Freiberg Leather Days event will take place in Sinsheim, Germany, on April 25 and 26, 2013.

Organisers, Verein fu¨r Gerberei-Chemie und -Technik (VGCT, Germany’s leather chemists’ and technologists’ society) and Forschungsinstitut für Leder und Kunststoffbahnen (FILK), have billed the event as an occasion for the European tanning and leather industry to gather to exchange experiences and discuss current issues.

Confirmed speakers from the leather chemicals sector include Raf Leyman and Elton Hurlow of Buckman speaking about the implications for the leather industry of biocide regulations, and Dr Brigitte Wegner of BASF speaking about the use of polymers in tanning systems.

From the tanning machinery sector, there will be presentations from Hanns Peter Spaniol of Heusch on the benefits corrosion-resistant blades can bring to tanners, and from Luca Tisato of Feltre and Marc Oomens of Intermedia, who will speak about automation technology in tanneries.
