Chrome VI debate among highlights for SLTC's April conference

The UK’s Society of Leather Technologists and Scientists (SLTC) has published details of its upcoming conference, which will be held in Northampton in April.

Speakers include Nigel Payne and Peter Atkinson from Forestal Mimosa, who will discuss the future of vegetable tanning; Mike Tomkin, supported by Stahl, who will address a sustainable future for the leather industry; and Dr Barry McGregor from Fujifilm, who will look at digital printing on leather.

A discussion on chrome VI and the use of chrome in leather will be chaired by Pittards’ CEO Reg Hankey and will include Lanxess’ Dr Dietrich Tegtmeyer, Tony Covington from the University of Northampton, SATRA’s John Hubbard and Scottish Leather Group’s Dr Warren Bowden on the panel.

The event takes place at the University of Northampton on April 23.
