IndustriALL says Mulberry should intervene in labour dispute

The IndustriALL Global Union is calling on Mulberry to intervene in an labour dispute at its Turkish supplier, SF Leather.

The manufacturer is suing workers and local union Deriteks, claiming that its commercial interests have been damaged by the union’s organizing tactics. 

Deriteks campaigned for 14 workers’ re-instatement as well as recognition of the union. IndustriALL Global Union intervened by sending a letter to the company management with the same demands.
IndustriALL said Mulberry claims there is no evidence that the dismissals were due to union organising and said it could not comment while there is a legal case ongoing.

World Leather contacted Mulberry for a statement but has had no response, as yet.
