Mulberry still believes it is on the right track

Luxury brand Mulberry has issued a statement to say trading conditions have been even more difficult than it anticipated in its current financial year (April 2014-March 2015).

Its revenues for the first half of the business year are down by 17% year on year to £64.7 million.

In the statement, Mulberry said “continuing headwinds affecting the luxury sector” have affected its performance in the first six months of the business year but that sales trends have improved as the period progressed. It said it believes this indicates that the right steps are being taken to restore the business to growth.

Mulberry will launch new bag and leathergoods collections and go ahead with plans to open a new flagship store in Paris in spring 2015.
