Reports from Bangkok say one its biggest tanneries, Chai Watana Tannery Group, is considering investing in solar rooftop panels to boost its environmental credentials.

The Bangkok Post reported that the group estimated the panels could power both its tannery and cut-and-sew facilities.

The tannery is based in Samutprakarn, home to the country’s leather making industry, and supplies to carmakers including Toyota, Honda and Nissan, as well as furniture producers.
