Tanzanian government to invest in livestock and hide processing sectors

The announcement came on April 18 when minister of state, Celine Kombani, said the state would also be hiring more than 30,000 new teachers and more than 11,000 new health-sector workers. She said that the Tanzanian government also intended to settle outstanding pay disputes with existing public-sector workers.
A project to make more of hides from Tanzanian cattle will also be part of a new government five-year plan. Social relations minister, Stephen Wasira, said hide processing was one of a number industries in which Tanzania wants to improve its performance. He said the government has won the backing of the World Bank to engage with operators in Asia to learn how to make improvements in these industries.
