North American demand boosts Ferragamo

Italian leathergoods brand Salvatore Ferragamo has reported a 2% rise in first half revenues to €259 million.

Sales in North America grew 15%, with both direct-to-consumer and wholesale sales up double-digits.

However, European sales were down 8% and Asia-Pacific sales were flat.

Over the recent months, the group has changed its senior management team, and is focusing on improving performance in Asia.

The board said the progress achieved over the past years provides increasing confidence in its direction: one which includes product refinement, targeting younger customers and investment in “digital storytelling” and ecommerce.
