Tyson Foods has appointed Wes Morris as chief operating officer, effective June 15, overseeing its chicken, beef, pork, prepared foods and international operations.

Wes Morris brings more than 20 years of experience with the company, including senior roles in prepared foods and poultry.

The appointment follows a period of leadership change within Tyson Foods’ senior management team, with Devin Cole set to retire after previously stepping into a key operational role in the company’s poultry and international businesses.

Incoming chief executive officer Jeff Schomburger said Wes Morris has a strong operational track record and will support the company’s long-term growth strategy. Wes Morris said he is focused on maintaining discipline as the business advances its priorities.
