Tyson Foods names new CEO
Meat and leather producer Tyson Foods has announced that Jeff Schomburger will become president and chief executive officer on October 4, following a transition period beginning in July.
Mr Schomburger has served on the company’s board since 2016 and is currently lead independent director. He previously spent 35 years at Procter & Gamble, retiring in 2019 as global sales officer.
Chairman John H. Tyson said the board is confident in Schomburger’s ability to lead the company into its next phase of growth and support its strategic priorities.
Donnie King will remain on the board following his retirement as chief executive. He has been with Tyson Foods for 43 years, during which he led the company through the COVID-19 pandemic and oversaw improvements in execution, profitability and balance sheet strength.
His tenure as CEO also included efforts to accelerate innovation, drive efficiency and consolidate corporate functions at the company’s headquarters in Springdale, Arkansas.
Tyson Foods said it remains focused on delivering long term profitable growth and cash generation and has reaffirmed its fiscal 2026 guidance.
