Success for Brazilians at Riva Schuh
Brazilian footwear companies have celebrated a successful trip to Italy for Riva Schuh, the Lake Garda trade show which took place in mid-June.

The 50 Brazilian brands sold  274,000 pairs, generating around $3.2 million, with additional orders taking the total to 1.3 million pairs and $19.8 million.

Paulina Klein, export manager from manufacturer Calçados Bottero, said they had taken orders from England, Bulgaria, Taiwan, Poland and Greece. “In this edition we maintained markets with which we already work. Buyers know they can't go wrong and are being careful when purchasing products,” she said.

For West Coast, it was the first edition presenting its spring/summer collection. "All the contacts we had, with the exception of one, were from new customers and countries. We served a lot of Latin Americans and also markets like Cyprus and South Africa,” said its export director, Felipe Cruz da Silveira.

Gianpaola Pedretti, general manager of Expo Riva Schuh, added: “We were happy with the return of buyers from Latin America and Europe, especially the Germans, considering that the European market is still experiencing difficulties. Brazil, once again, was present with the best companies representing footwear producing regions and using the fair as a useful sales tool, which for us is a very important sign.”
