Silvateam Celebrates 170th Anniversary with Vivaldi Concert
Silvateam, an Italian company established in 1854 by Carlo Giuseppe Battaglia, has announced its 170th anniversary.
The company, which began with the extraction of tannins from chestnut wood for the leather tanning industry, has since expanded its operations into multiple sectors, including leather tanning, food ingredients, animal nutrition, and various industrial applications.
In a celebratory social media post, Silvateam expressed gratitude to the Battaglia family, stating: "From Carlo Giuseppe to his eight heirs, we extend our deepest gratitude to the Battaglia family for their unwavering passion and commitment." The anniversary celebration featured a performance of Vivaldi’s "Four Seasons" by renowned violinist Uto Ughi, accompanied by I Virtuosi Italiani.
Silvateam's product range includes tannins and other plant-based extracts for leather tanning, pectin and tara gum for the food industry, and natural extracts for animal nutrition. The company also produces specialty chemicals for various industrial uses.
Headquartered in San Michele Mondovì, Italy, Silvateam operates globally with facilities in Argentina, Peru, and China.
