Italy-based leather chemicals group Silvateam continued its 170th anniversary celebrations with an evening reception after the second day of the Simac Tanning Tech show.

The event took place in a restaurant overlooking the Duomo Cathedral in the centre of Milan, where guests gathered to celebrate the anniversary.

In comments made on social media, Silvateam director Antonio Battaglia mentioned that it all started with a small chestnut extract factory in Corsaglia near San Michele Mondovi, where the company's headquarters are still located. Initially, the extract was produced for dyeing silk, and later expanded to leather application, and now the company is involved in many applications that promote sustainable chemistry.
