Brazilian tanneries return to Vietnamese show

11/07/2023
Brazilian tanneries, under the auspices of the Brazilian Leather Project, will be exhibiting at the Vietnam Shoes and Leather fair in Ho Chi Minh City after a three-year absence.

Vietnam is the fourth largest importer of Brazilian leather, with a 5% share last year, and it is increasing its footwear and accessories production.

Rogério Cunha, from Brazilian industry association CICB's trade intelligence team, said: “Vietnam is the second largest exporter of shoes in the world, with amounts equivalent to $23.5 billion and 1.3 billion pairs (2021). Leather is the material of 24% of these products, so, naturally, it is a market on which we must direct our attention.”

Brazil will have an international stand, promoting the national leather industry, in addition to the individual tanneries’ booths.

The 23rd International Exhibition on Shoes & Leather Industry and International Footwear & Leather Products Exhibition will take place at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center from July 12 to 14.
