Amazon-Ferragamo partnership exposes crime
Following an international investigation, “hundreds” of counterfeit Salvatore Ferragamo leather Gancini belts and buckles intended for sale on Amazon have been seized by local law enforcement officials in the Chinese province of Zhejiang, Reuters has reported.

The counterfeiter had reportedly attempted to pass the illicit articles off as authentic on the US-based retailer’s e-commerce platform, resulting in the two companies joining hands with global crime agencies in a united effort to lift the lid on those responsible.

Last year, the Florentine luxury brand successfully petitioned to remove over 22,000 imitation goods and false profiles from social media, in addition to more than 130,000 product listings in online boutiques, as part of a wider crusade against fakes, the same publication said.
