JLIA to relaunch leather courses in Osaka and Tokyo
Japan’s leather and leathergoods industry association (JLIA) is to relaunch a series of courses aimed at helping fashion professionals increase their understanding and appreciation of leather.
JLIA ran a trial of the course in Tokyo in 2019 and had planned to roll it out more widely. However, the covid-19 prevented this from happening.
The organisation has said it intends to run the course in Osaka on March 12 and in Tokyo on April 20. It plans a second date in Osaka in June.
Participants will hear talks explaining some of the basic science behind leather production, JLIA explained, as well as having the opportunity to take part in practical sessions.
