Bridge of Weir Leather celebrates automotive design

UK-based tannery Bridge of Weir Leather presented a design award and was represented in two public debuts at the 2021 Concours of Elegance classic car show, held at Hampton Court Palace, near London.

The Bridge of Weir enclosure hosted the McLaren Speedtail, Range Rover SV Autobiography Ultimate Edition, Aston Martin DBX and David Gandy’s Jaguar XK120.

David Gandy also displayed his restored Porsche 356 C, featuring a bespoke five-piece luggage set hand colour-matched in Bridge of Weir leather.

Now in its second year, the Bridge of Weir award was presented to the 1953 Delahaye 135MS CL Spéciale Faget Varnet.  Fully restored in 2018, the car has spent most of its lifetime in a private museum, making very infrequent public appearances.

A Jaguar C-type Continuation and an electric version of the Land Rover Series IIA by Everrati made their public debuts.

Jamie Davidson, director of Bridge of Weir Leather Company, said: “Over the years Bridge of Weir has supplied fine automotive leather to some of the world’s most iconic cars and it has been a privilege to display so many fine examples at our enclosure.”

Bridge of Weir is part of the Scottish Leather Group.
