JBS moves deforestation commitments forward
Meat and tannery group JBS has brought forward its target of zero illegal deforestation its supply chain in the Cerrado, Pantanal, Atlantic Forest and Caatinga biomes from 2030 to 2025, mirroring the target for the Amazon.

The Brazilian group says this is due to the success of its Transparent Livestock Farming Platform, which uses blockchain technology to identify upstream links and enforce sustainability criteria on the suppliers of its own suppliers.

In addition to expanding the monitoring system, JBS is assisting producers enhance the environmental performance of their properties through its network of 13 Green Offices located in several regions of the country.

From January 2026, adherence to the Transparent Livestock Farming Platform platform will become a mandatory condition for selling cattle to the group.
