Brazil: boost for leather-sector components, machinery and chemicals

16/04/2021

The Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and the Brazilian Association of Leather, Footwear and Components Companies (Assintecal) have signed an R$18 million ($2.3 million) deal to boost exports.

The two-year project aims to boost sales of tanning and footwear machinery and technology, as well as leather chemicals.

The funding will help companies develop products and increase digitalisation, attend fairs, roundtables and business trips, and develop marketing strategies.

The project was started in 1998 and provides funding in two-year cycles. It has helped Brazilian leather and footwear components and machinery companies grow sales in Latin America, particularly Colombia and Mexico, and leather chemicals groups increase exports to Asia.
