Russian leather manufacturer Volga Tannery has come through audits from fashion group Inditex with the highest possible grade for environmental performance, making its leather suitable for use in products that Inditex brands, including Zara,  Massimo Dutti and Oysho, label as ‘Join Life’.

Since 2015, Inditex has used the ‘Join Life’ label to highlight best practice in raw materials sourcing and manufacturing. In 2018, the last year for which figures are available, the group produced 118 million ‘Join Life’ items.

Volga Tannery said it was pleased to have achieved a ‘best-in-class’ rating, showing that its leather complies with stringent Inditex requirements.
