Spaziani to oversee men’s leathergoods at Louis Vuitton
Darren Spaziani (pictured) of Louis Vuitton’s women’s leathergoods division has been promoted to the creative helm of men’s leathergoods, on top of his existing responsibilities.
Delphine Arnault, executive vice president of Louis Vuitton, commented: “Darren has brought his creative vision for women’s leathergoods and knows how to perfectly infuse modernity while relying on the craftsmanship and talented teams of the house. It was very natural to extend his role to the men’s universe.”
In addition to continuing to work alongside Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of Louis Vuitton women’s collections since 2013, Mr Spaziani will also now work with Virgil Abloh, men’s artistic director at the luxury house since 2018, as well as newer hires Johnny Coca (women’s fashion leathergoods director) and Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou (responsible for all men’s categories, apart from fragrance), whom Vuitton recruited in 2020 and 2019, respectively.
Mr Spaziani has previously worked for Proenza Schouler, Tory Burch, Diane von Furstenberg and Balenciaga, as well as a prior stint at Louis Vuitton. He holds a master’s degree in fashion from Central Saint Martins and a BA from the London College of Fashion.
“I am very honoured to be able to explore new creative territories and I am looking forward to working with Virgil Abloh and his teams and the unparalleled craftsmanship for men’s leathergoods,” Mr Spaziani said in an internal announcement.
