Loewe’s new head of finance restores Spanish presence
Madrid-based luxury brand Loewe has filled two gaps left by its former head of finance, Eloy Rodrigo, when he moved to Vodafone at the end of 2019. As well as carrying out the finance role, Mr Rodrigo was the only remaining Spanish member of Loewe’s senior management team.
LVMH acquired Loewe in 1987 and, since then, the brand has become more and more international. Chief executive, Pascale Lepoivre, joined in 2016 from within the Paris-based luxury group; she replaced Lisa Montague, who had herself arrived at Loewe in 2009 from UK brand Mulberry. The brand’s creative director is Irish designer, Jonathan Anderson.
In appointing Julio Guijarro as its new chief financial officer, Loewe has also restored a Spanish presence at the top. Mr Guijarro has joined after two-and-a-half years in Shanghai as the corporate finance manager in Asia for fashion group Inditex. Before that, he worked for Schreiber Foods, Flowserve Corporation and C&A, mostly in his native Spain.
