Leather& to take ‘unique’ message to CTF Seoul
South Korean small leathergoods brand Leather& is set to show its handcrafted wares at the Craft Trend Fair (CTF) at Coex, Seoul, from December 3 to December 6.
According to its website, CTF is “dedicated to leading Asian crafts”, as well as popularising and commercialising Korean artisanal design, specifically.
Leather&’s workshop is focused on crafting a “unique” aesthetic, drawn from its message-driven design approach (the Swahili phrase “Hakuna-matata”, meaning “no worries”, features prominently across multiple products, for example) and use of “traditional” leather engraving patterns, such as mother of pearl, on natural cowhide.
Yoo Kyung-hee, CEO of Leather&, told local media: “We differentiate the brand by making elaborate designs by hand, including bonding and sewing.”
