Professor Mwinyihija succeeds Lisa Howlett, brand ambassador at Auburn Leather, a division of ISA TanTec.

During his presidency Professor Mwinyihija aims to increasing membership, update statutes and “build on the image of ICT at regional and global levels to create an enhanced presence on matters of the leather sector”.

He also hopes to strengthen the role of the Global Leather Co-ordinating Committee.

He said: “I confirm my commitment to the values of our prestigious association and confident of your unwavering support and active participation to ensure continued success in the future, as spearheaded by the previous leadership of the council.”

Professor Mwinyihija’s duties will include the organisation of the Fifth World Leather Congress, to be held on the November 1, 2021, in Addis Ababa. This will held in conjunction with the XXXVI IULTCS Congress (3-5 November 2021) and All Africa Leather Fair 2021 (6-9 November 2021).
