Kerry Senior takes over as ICT secretary

14/04/2020

Director of industry association Leather UK, Dr Kerry Senior, has taken up the role of secretary to the International Council of Tanners (ICT). As announced at the beginning of the year, he has taken over from Paul Pearson in the role.

Kerry Senior became director of Leather UK (then called the UK Leather Federation) seven years ago after working extensively on environment, raw materials and health and safety projects. Earlier in his career, Dr Senior worked for BLC Leather Technology Centre.

For his part, Paul Pearson began serving as secretary of the ICT at the start of 1998. The plan was for him to step down with a warm vote of thanks at the end of the 2020 ICT Council Meeting. The meeting was take place in Hong Kong on March 30 just before this year’s APLF exhibition.

The meeting did not go ahead because the exhibition did not go ahead, but Paul Pearson completed his hand-over to Dr Senior at the start of April anyway. In a statement, Mr Pearson said he had enjoyed the role and was grateful for the support he had received from colleagues across the industry down the years.
