Reranked Barron’s list sees Tapestry jump 50 places
Tapestry, the parent company of Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman, jumped 50 places on Barron’s reranked 100 Most Sustainable Companies list.
When the original annual list was published in February, Tapestry was ranked 87. According to the new criteria, the luxury giant comes in at 37.
For years, the list has been based on 28 categories and 230 indicators under the environmental, social and governance umbrella. In light of the covid-19 pandemic and global protests of racial injustice, Barron’s announced a change in criteria that takes into account workplace diversity, data security, product quality, and how companies interact with their employees, customers and communities.
Of the 100 companies, Barron’s said 26 fell more than 20 places in the ranking, while 23 improved more than 20 places.
“As customers and employees continue to make their voices heard, the companies that respond are likely to be more lavishly rewarded by investors,” Barron’s wrote.
