Leather designer tapped for Kanye collection

Mowalola Ogunlesi, the British-Nigerian designer known for her work with treated leathers, has been named design director of Yeezy Gap, a new collaboration between Kanye West and American apparel brand Gap.

It’s not yet known whether leather will play a role in the Gap collection, but the announcement came as Mr West posted an image on social media of himself and wife Kim Kardashian wearing leather ensembles designed by Ms Ogunlesi.

Last year, according to Complex magazine, Ms Ogunlesi made her London Fashion Week debut with a collection of sculpted leather jackets with cut-outs, coated leather jackets and skinny leather pants.
