Nigerian minister courts Russian investment

Nigeria’s industry and trade minister, Richard Adebayo, travelled to Russia in October and told government and representatives there that Nigeria will welcome long-term partnerships with Russia to boost wider agribusiness activity, including leather manufacture.

Mr Adebayo said Nigeria will welcome investment propositions aimed at boosting local capacity for producing food crops, crop processing and secondary processing of other agricultural produce. Nigeria’s government is already implementing a series of policies that can, the minister said, enhance investor confidence in the agricultural sector in the African country.

He mentioned a policy on leather and leather products as an example.
