Pakistan’s footwear exports look promising

Pakistan’s leather industry earned export revenues of $153.11 million between July and Aug of fiscal 2019-20, a 3% rise over the same period the preceding year. 

Revenues from tanned leather exports fell by 10% to $36.77 million, but the volume increased 18% to 3.9 million square metres, according to Pakistan’s Federal Bureau of Statistics. 

Revenues from footwear exports increased 16% to $25.8 million during the month. In terms of quantity, exports rose by 40% to 2.7 million pairs.
