Egypt to host new Pan-African Leather Fair

Informa, the parent company of the organiser of the APLF event in Hong Kong will work with local partner, Cairo for Investment and Development (CID), to put the Cairo event on. CID is the company that manages the Roubiki Leather City cluster outside the capital.
CID chairman, Yasser El Maghraby, said recently that 240 Egyptian tanners have already set up production at Roubiki and have the combined capacity to produce 220 million square-feet of leather per year.
He said the investment in phase one of the Roubiki project reached $340 million and explained that phases two (for leather chemical manufacturers) and three (finished product manufacturers and a leather outlet village) of the project will follow.
