Japanese designer takes centre stage at Mipel
19/09/2018
Mipel is co-located with footwear exhibition Micam, and this year occupied two halls at the Rho exhibition site.
The biggest change this time was the expansion of the ‘Spazio’ zone, which took up one of those halls. First introduced in February’s edition of the event, it is dedicated to international brands and manufacturers of bags, travel goods, small leathergoods and fashion accessories.
Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto was invited as guest of honour and he presented his new collection of luxury bags, which is called ‘discord’.
The organiser of Mipel, Italian leathergoods manufacturers’ association AIMPES, said at the start of the show that it expected to attract more than 12,000 visitors from across the world.
