LVMH Maisons create leather-finished wine barrel
Two LVMH Maisons have come together to put an interesting twist on the traditional wine barrel and leather plays its part.

The two brands, winemaker Bodega Numanthia and luxury leathergoods specialist Loewe, are both rooted in Spanish heritage and have combined their expertise to create this collectors’ items.

The 225-litre barrel (the equivalent of 300 75cl bottles) is made from French oak wood and covered in Loewe leather. LVMH has said it is a “tribute to the craftsmanship and excellence that defines the two Maisons”.

Customers can personalise the barrel by selecting from five different shades of Loewe calf leather. Their initials will also be marked on the barrel using leather.

The barrel is delivered with Bodega Numanthia’s finest 2016 Termanthia wine, bottled in either 75cl, magnum (150cl), jeroboam (five-litre) balthazar (12-litre) size depending on the customer’s preference.
