Leather chemicals manufacturer TFL recently welcomed a group of students from the University of Northampton’s Institute for Creative Leather Technologies (ICLT) to the academy it operates in Montebello in northern Italy.

The week-long workshop was also attended by four students from the Italian High School for Tanning Technology (ITIS) Galileo Galilei.

The course gave the students the opportunity to learn about the entire tanning process and the latest innovative machinery on the market. The training included several trials with TFL technologies.

The students also visited local machinery manufacturers and a wastewater treatment plant in nearby Arzignano.

“The education of future generations is very important to TFL,” the company said. “The TFL Academy is looking forward to continuing such training in order to support the education of future generations of leather technicians, technologists and scientists.”
