06/09/2016
India’s Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) recently organised a workshop to display the advantages of a waterless chrome tanning technology to figures from the leather industry in the city of Jalandhar.

A Workshop and Technology Transfer Meet on Waterless Chrome Tanning Technology (WLCT) was organised alongside the CLRI’s regional centre in the city.

Among the benefits of the WLCT is 100% absorption of chrome salts, meaning no discharge of effluent containing chrome.

A team of six senior scientists from the CLRI conducted demonstrations of the technology and the leather produced was displayed afterwards to give those present the chance to see the results of the process.

A total of 44 owners and representatives from the region’s leather industry participated in the workshop.
