President of France’s National Leather Council, Frank Boehly, has been elected as the new chairman of SIC, the commercial company that works to promote the French leather industry, most notably through trade fairs such as ACLE in Shanghai and APLF in Hong Kong, on which it works in partnership with event organiser UBM Asia.

At the time of his election, Mr Boehly said CIC will aim to offer “dynamic new activities” to help meet the needs of France’s leather sector today.

In parallel, Denis Geissmann has been re-elected as the president of the Syndicat Ge´ne´ral des Cuirs et Peaux, one of 19 member organisations of the National Leather Council. He has been president of the organisation since 2011 and now has a mandate for a further three years.

The Syndicat Ge´ne´ral des Cuirs et Peaux incorporates 90% of the French production of raw hides. It organises vaccination campaigns against ringworm and lice in herds, dissemination of best practice in breeding, advice and training for abattoir workers and the promotion of French hides on the international market.
