Lottery winnings spent on setting up tannery

Press in the US have reported how a one-man tannery was set up after the owner won the lottery, allowing him to leave his job as a miller and follow his dream.

Greg McNally specialises in tanning for taxidermy, mainly bear and deer, and is one of only a handful of tanners working in the sector, reported the Portland Press Herald.

He built a workshop under his new house and now tans around 600 bear capes a year.

“I didn’t win enough to not work the rest of my life, but I won enough to pretty much do what I want,” Mr McNally said. “I bought a piece of land and I moved up here.”
