Four Indian tanneries ordered to close

The Times of India has reported that four tanneries in the Kolhapur district have been ordered to close for violating pollution rules.

A committee reportedly found the tanneries were not treating waste water before releasing it into nearby a river.

The committee had been appointed by the Bombay High Court.
