More responsibility for Lanxess’ leather boss

The head of the leather division at specialty chemicals company Lanxess has assumed new responsibilities - now being also tasked with leading corporate development.

The announcement comes as Matthias Zachert takes over chairman, vowing to return the Germany-based group to “winning ways”.

"I am looking forward to the new tasks back at my former workplace,” said Mr Zachert. “In the coming weeks and months, we will work hard together to find solutions on how we will tackle the challenges lying ahead of us. With the support of all employees, I am sure we will return Lanxess to winning ways soon."

The investor relations and law and intellectual property divisions, which were previously under the control of the chief financial officer, are now reporting directly to Mr Zachert.
